We are deeply saddened to report that Bob Childs passed away on January 30. Enthusiastic entomologist, gifted teacher and educator at UMass Stockbridge and at many events through UMass Extension, Bob shared his love of bugs and people in all he did. Always upbeat and positive, Bob’s impact upon generations of entomology students and industry professionals was impressive and beyond measure.

This year’s program lineup showcases a great group of speakers and offers plenty of continuing education credits for ISA, MCA, MCLP, CTSP, and state pesticide and forester licenses. The Arbor Education Program at UMass and Stockbridge School will hold its second annual one-week intensive summer course for pre-college students who want to learn about the science and business of arboriculture and the basic skills required. Arborists are in great demand and there are multiple career opportunities for those with training and education in the field. The course will be held July 13-17, 2015.
