We are saddened to report the passing of Tom Houston on April 24 following a brief illness. There will be a memorial service on June 10, 2017 from 2-4 pm in Memorial Hall at UMass Amherst. Tom was a longtime teacher and helped many get started in the industry. Read the obituary here.

The New York State Department of Conservation has released educational materials about how to prevent oak trees from the coming scourge of oak wilt, most urgently by pruning oaks only when dormant.
