dedication and a strong commitment usually with many hours of volunteer service to the
organization.
This person who could be defined as an unsung hero, who is always there to lend a
helping hand to the Association. In addition, individuals and organizations outside of the
MTWFA have also been recipients of this prestigious award from time to time. The award is
not necessarily presented annually.
Criteria recommended for nomination of the award:
- A minimum of ten years of service in the public tree sector.
- An individual or organization recognized for its contributions in public tree care or
advocacy.
- A person or group that has worked with the MTWFA and has shown dedication and
commitment to the advancement of the Association.
Association Recognition
The MTWFA Awards & Nominating Committee will determine the item given from the
Association, which is then presented at the Annual Conference. Recognition is also noted
in the quarterly newsletter, The Bark, and on the Association’s web page. A press release
will be created and shared with the town hall and local paper of that town or city of where
